Day 3: Sunday 22nd March 2020: Mother’s Day

So, Day 3. Finished nightshift at 10am, and went and picked up flowers for Alyson, Muriel and also some to put at my Mum’s graveside, but in the end decided not to go in case it was busy and would be a problem being so close to others.

First year since Mum passed that I’ve not been up. I wonder what her and my Dad would have made of all of this?

Home, breakfast and we had planned to go away in the car and be together on our own to isolate. We had considered Loch Lomond, or Glencoe but reading so many reports of how busy these places were, we opted to do what we should have done in the first place. Stay at home.

Turned out a great day, nice weather, and got lots done in the garden.Listened to lots of music. The kids seemed to have fun.

It also shows you dont need to spend tons of money, go to places, or any of that. Be at home and be with your loved ones, thats all you need. Well, it’s all I needed. And a camera or two of course.

Eilidh and her friend Laurie have been using walkie talkies to communicate to each other, which melted my heart listening to them. We saw our friends, albeit from distance and chatted about how long it would be until we all were together again for BBQ’s and drinks, which on a sunny day like today, would have been a defo. I miss this so much.

Dropped flowers to Muriel on her doorstep, and chatted from distance. What a mess all of this is.

Home for dinner, some wine and a bath. No photos of that.

Happy Mother’s Day to my amazing wife, Muriel, Nessie, and my Mum.

Stay safe.

Day 4 and home schooling begins tomorrow. Murray becomes a teacher. Pray for us!
