So- we are in May 2020?

So, we are now in May 2020. At the time of writing, I think its been 7 weeks of lockdown, and so far over 30,000 COVID related deaths in the UK, the highest in Europe. Unbelievable really.

I’ve not written here for ages, I’ve still been taking lots of photos but to be honest couldn’t tell you when from, what day was what, without looking at the EXIF data for each photo.

Been off on annual leave for the last 2 weeks and the weather has been amazing, so the kids and I have been outside in the garden most days, all day. Alyson has still been going to work, so for the most part apart from weekends and evenings it’s been the 3 of us.

More Joe Wicks workouts with the kids, my own exercise, cycling, weights, circuits etc, amongst home schooling, BBQ’s, beers, zoom calls/pub quizzes, and being interviewed for two podcasts. We also had an Ice Cream delivery from our lovely neighbours The Andersons, to celebrate Finn’s 3rd birthday. Happy Birthday Finn!!

It’s been really busy for a time when I thought I was supposed to struggle for things to do!

Eilidh and Niamh have become SO close through all of this- that’s probably one of the biggest things I’ve noticed as well. They have been amazing together.

Watching the news at the time of writing and Nicola Sturgeon has just outlined that lockdown will continue until 28th May 2020 AT LEAST which I’m glad of. As hard as it is, for everyone- it needs to be done and I’m glad that our first minister is clear on it.

Back to work on Monday coming, so I will see what’s happening on that front soon. May also brings a big birthday in our house, with Alyson hitting the fabulous 40, and all the plans I had will not be happening now. Still, we get through this and we can celebrate later with our friends.

Wanted to also give a shout out to all the lovely people whose weddings I am booked to shoot, that have been postponed, or still due to go ahead- thank you so much for how understanding you’ve all been. I know how hard this is for you and want to reassure you that I will do my utmost to help in anyway I can. Just drop me a message anytime and I will get back to you.

2021 is looking REALLY busy for me, so if you are considering a change to your date or indeed getting in touch to shoot your wedding, do it soon.

Also- I’d been asked if I would ‘socially distance’ and come and do some family photoshoots in gardens, at people’s homes etc. Just to say I wont do this, I dont consider it correct at this time but I’m more than happy to chat on doing it when this is all over. Just drop me a message via the contact form.

Lots of photographs to follow. I had started doing this daily, but too much pressure and not enough time to do it means it’s just when I get a chance.

Big shout to our family and friends who we are all missing very much.

Stay safe everyone

Murray
